Although aluminum, more specifically 6061 Aluminum, is not as conductive as C18700 copper, it is FAR more conductive than standard lead or tin terminals, and it does have other properties that make it far more appealing for a battery terminal. Furthermore, conductivity is not a concern when talking about a terminal of this surface area.
Relative conductivity of materials as compared to copper (% IACS):
- Copper: 100%
- Aluminum: 63%
- 6061 Aluminum: 47%
- Lead: 6.2%
Keep in mind that the terminal posts built into your battery are lead.
Strength: Aluminum will be less prone to cracking and deforming than its copper counterpart.
Cost: Aluminum is both easier to machine, and more readily available, making it far cheaper to manufacture than copper, and for more affordable to the end user.
This kit is designed to be a complete replacement for your factory terminals, making connecting aftermarket accessories easy, quick, and reliable.
These terminals are designed, manufactured, and assembled in Utah with all-American-made aluminum and hardware.
